September has blustered its way into existence and there is a distinct nip in the air telling me that the summer has passed me by. As we are rapidly launched into cooling breezy days in which we see the trees explode in their autumnal extravagance it feels like a time to fill our stores with harvest goodness – which of course I would be doing if had had time to do anything in the garden this year – no such luck again! For some of us it is time for planning the winter parties and before we know it we will be bombarded with the usual commercial hullabaloo of Christmas shopping. So – we thought we would talk about wedding and anniversaries instead and for that I will hand you over to Patricia …. for our latest updates.
The big one that got away – Punch and Judy ‘get married’ at Rhos-on-Sea
Back in July we had a surprise telephone call and an e-mail asking if we would consider making Judy’s wedding dress. After 150 years of being together Punch and Judy had decided to get married. Now it might have been because I suggested white might not be a
ppropriate after such a long term liaison , but we did not get this order. It might just be that our wedding dresses are too different for a bride with such a public profile – oh well we win some we loose some. Some of the wedding dresses that they might have seen from our collection are now going on the on-line shop. These dresses are unique, with delicate rainbow colours chosen rather than the traditional white, or even bold beautiful glowing colours that would be perfect for an exotic island wedding. One or two brush historical periods, all shy away from anything that looks remotely like the traditional white ‘big frock’!
Coronation Street celebrates 50 years.
To complement the whole wedding theme we have many outfits that would be perfect for the mother of the bride – and for those weddings that are blessed with many years staying power- the anniversary.
One anniversary with which we have got involved is the celebration of 50 years of the famous soap ‘Coronation Street’ – Julie Goodyear, famous for her role as the feisty bar maid at The Rovers Return, will be shown wearing one of our outfits – gold of course – in ‘Hello’ magazine some day soon. We will let you know when the feature will be published. Evidently the anniversary is officially at the beginning
